LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The owner of the soon-to-be reopened Downtown Grand casino announced it has begun taking applications to hire more than 800 positions.

Fifth Street Gaming said applications are being accepted at www.fifthstreetgaming.com/careers. Some of the positions for hire listed on the site include management roles, slot technicians, cocktail servers, dealers and guest service ambassadors, to name a few.

The new Downtown Grand, which is the result of a revamping of the old Lady Luck casino on Third Street and Ogden Avenue, is slated to open this fall after a $100 million renovation. About 650 hotel rooms will be added to downtown Las Vegas as well as hundreds of slot machines, gaming tables and bars and restaurants.

"We anticipate a strong response given both the current unemployment rate and the fact that Downtown Grand will provide a great employment opportunity," Fifth Street Gaming CEO Seth Schorr said.
