Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on the I-15 near the Speedway. Three people are confirmed dead.
The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when calls of gold Acura traveling northbound in the southbound lane came in. Several minutes after that call, there were reports of a head-on collision involving the gold Acura and a white Yukon SUV vehicle.
There were six occupants in the Yukon. The driver was a male who was pronounced dead on the scene. A female passenger in the Yukon was confirmed deceased as well at the accident site. The remaining four passengers in the SUV, two male and two female passengers, were transported to UMC Trauma. The four occupants were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A male in his early 20s was driving the gold Acura and was also pronounced dead on the scene.
The road has been blocked at the I-15 southbound lane at the Speedway. Traffic is being diverted to the southbound Speedway off-ramp.
The cause of this accident is still under investigation by NHP. FOX5 will continue to provide updates with information regarding this accident as soon as details become available.
