LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A grease fire at an east Las Vegas apartment complex resulted in damage to seven units Thursday afternoon.

The fire happened about 2:50 p.m. at 5101 E. Twain Ave.

FOX5's Doug Johnson reported the fire was caused by someone cooking french fries. He said two people in the apartment were injured - one suffered smoke inhalation and the other was cut by glass. Both refused treatment, he said.

Seven apartments in the complex were damaged by smoke and water, and it's estimated it will cost about $100,000 to repair, Johnson reported.

Pictures of the scene showed fire trucks and police cars blocking off Twain Avenue in the immediate area of the apartments.
