LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police are hoping someone will come forward with information about a man who attacked a teen in downtown Las Vegas on Monday, April 29 at 2:40 p.m.

Police said the 15-year-old female victim was walking in the area of Willoughby Avenue and 28th Street when she was approached by a man. He grabbed her by the arms and dragged her toward an older model blue Hyundai Elantra.

The man groped her, but she fought back and got away from him. A witness saw the man enter the vehicle and drive away.

The suspect is described as in his 30s, approximately 6', 200 pounds with dark brown eyes and black hair in a mohawk style. He was wearing a blue mechanic's jumpsuit.

Neighbors in the area said they can't believe this happened.

"Absolutely shocked, it's an older neighborhood but quiet as quiet can be," Sandra Thomas said.

Thomas added that two schools are nearby and the neighborhood is usually filled with parents and kids around the time this happened.

"They start parking here about 10 to 3 so I can't believe he would have done that on this corner, it's amazing," Thomas said.

"I hope they do catch him so people with kids have something less to worry about," David Mazy added.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Metro's Sexual Assault Section at 702-828-3421 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. You may also leave information online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
