On Saturday Las Vegas Metro Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Owens Avenue near I-15 and West Lake Mead Boulevard to investigate a report of a subject who had been stabbed.
At approximately 10:56 p.m. arriving patrol officers discovered a male had been transported by medical personnel to the UMC Trauma Center. The victim suffered apparent multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Initial investigation initiated by LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the victim was a homeless man who was sleeping between two buildings. A passerby indicated the suspect was seen stabbing the victim and ran when confronted. The passerby then called police.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic, adult male, between the ages of 20 to 25 years of age, standing at approximately 5 feet and 2 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing a dark blue sweat suit, a blue cap and white tennis shoes. When the suspect was confronted, he left the scene on a silver BMX-style bicycle.
The identity of the victim and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
