LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

It has played host to a number of rock concerts and, in its earlier years, Hollywood luminaries. The Huntridge Theater, which has remained dormant for almost 10 years, might find new life with an acquisition in the works announced this week.

A limited liability company, Huntridge Revival, announced it had made an agreement with the property's current owner to acquire the theater and renovate it.

The LLC is a partnership between Life is Beautiful fest founder Rehan Choudry, downtown businessman Michael Cornthwaite and First Friday managing partner Joey Vanas.

According to Choudry's Aurelian Marketing Group, plans call for a complete relaunch of the Huntridge, which is located on Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway.

Aurelian confirmed a deposit was made in the deal with current owners King George LLC. The group, though, will have to raise funds to close on the property and renovate it, according to a spokesperson for Aurelian.

King George LLC acquired the property in 2002 with a temporary closing in 2004. Ownership reportedly planned to renovate the building then, but the Huntridge Theater lay dormant, where it accumulated trash and the city's homeless.

In 2012, the current Huntridge owners considered converting the property into a second-hand store.

The Huntridge Theater first opened in 1944.
