Two people were taken to a local hospital after an apartment caught fire in North Las Vegas, fire officials said.

North Las Vegas Fire Capt. Cedric Williams reported the fire at 10:21 a.m. at a two-story building in the 2600 block of Donna Street, just east of I-15.

Williams said three adults and a child were inside a unit that caught fire. A woman and man had to be transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and burns, NLVFD said.

Fire officials reported one bedroom and a hallway were destroyed in the blaze.
