LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A law firm representing Firefly patrons sickened by a salmonella outbreak said it is representing 50 people in lawsuits against the Las Vegas restaurant.

A representative for Marler Clark law firm in Seattle confirmed Wednesday the increased total of patrons seeking litigation.

As FOX5 reported on Friday, Marler Clark filed a nine-page lawsuit on behalf of a couple who dined at the Firefly location on Paradise Road on April 23.

Southern Nevada Health District said the location had been cited for 44 demerits linked to improper food storage and handling. SNHD also said the demerits are related to a salmonella outbreak that affected 86 patrons and three workers during April 21 through 25.

As of Wednesday, the restaurant remained closed since its initial shutdown last week.

There was no word on when the eatery plans to reopen.

Stay tuned to FOX5 for the latest on this developing story.
