Police said a jaywalker was struck by a motorcycle east of the Las Vegas Strip, marking the second such incident in the area early in the morning Wednesday.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, 58-year-old John McCabe Jr. was attempting to cross Flamingo Road near Audrie Street about 3 a.m. outside of a marked crosswalk.

During the crossing, McCabe was struck by a westbound motorcycle operated by Nestor Guzman-Hernandez, 21, police said.

The collision caused the motorcyclist to be thrown off his bike, according to Metro.

Both men were transported to University Medical Center. Police said McCabe of San Angelo, TX sustained critical injuries while Guzman-Hernandez had minor injuries.

Police earlier investigated an incident that involved a pedestrian and a vehicle on the Strip at Spring Mountain Road. The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was hospitalized.
