Shannon Moore joined FOX5 News in October 2012. Before landing in Las Vegas, she worked as reporter in Reno for the FOX affiliate KRXI. She covered a wide range of stories, from the tragic Air Race Crash at Stead Airport to the region's raging wildfires in 2011. Shannon also scored several sought-after interviews during her time in Reno, from Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan to Super Bowl XLVII Quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Shannon grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was President of the student Radio Television Digital News Association and a member of Delta Zeta's Gamma Lambda Chapter.
Some of Shannon's proudest moments in her career are times she volunteered for charity, emceeing events like the Signature Chefs Auction in Reno to benefit March of Dimes and the SPCA's "Love Life Telethon" where she helped to raise more than $50,000 for homeless pets in need.
Shannon loves being a hard news journalist but also has a special place in her heart for feature stories. Her favorite part of being a FOX5 Morning News Reporter is fun live shots like crawling through a giant pit of mud at the valley's Mad Mud Run and racing down the street in an electric Shelby Cobra. You can catch Shannon on FOX5 News This Morning weekdays from 4:30a to 9a and follow her on twitter @shannonmfox5.
