HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Only four Henderson businesses were cited in the city's latest round of alcohol compliance checks over the weekend.

According to the city, 74 of the 78 businesses checked early Sunday did not sell alcoholic beverages to minors.

Of the businesses that did, Henderson police cited the following:

CVS, 1551 W. Sunset Road;

Green Valley Grocery, 902 S. Boulder Highway;

Lee's Discount Liquor, 4427 E. Sunset Road;

Whole Foods, 100 S. Green Valley Parkway.

Henderson PD said clerks were issued a citation, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Managers of the business who face a second or third citation could face revocation of their business license.

Police noted some businesses that failed in the past were rechecked and were found to be compliant. All business that failed received a first-time citation.

Police also said six of the businesses checked had a past compliance failure but were re-checked in the latest round and passed.

The underage patrons were volunteers recruited by Henderson police as part of the federal Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant, the department said.
