KINGMAN, AZ (FOX5) -

A 12-gauge shotgun was confiscated from the home of an ex-felon accused of dragging his wife by the hair, according to authorities in northwest Arizona.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said William Nelson Lewis Jr., 35, of Kingman was charged with possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct.

According to the sheriff's office, a 26-year-old woman called deputies of a domestic incident that took place before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Deputies said the woman told them she confronted her husband about his activity on the computer when he pulled her by the hair and dragged her into the bedroom of their home.

The sheriff's office said deputies went to the couple's home and met with Lewis, who told them a verbal argument took place and his wife left after it.

Deputies, though, learned Lewis was a convicted felon and found a shotgun inside the home, the sheriff's office said.

Lewis was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
