One Nevada Credit Union is hosting a free shred day for community members to raise awareness on identity theft.
On Friday, people can bring in up to three boxes of personal paperwork to shred at the Green Valley branch on Sunset from noon to 3 p.m.
Assured Document Destruction will be there to make sure all the paperwork is safely and properly disposed of. Both members and non-members can attend. Participants are asked to remain at the branch while their papers are shredded.
One Nevada Credit Union will also be collecting donations for local nonprofit The Shade Tree. Donation requests include toilet paper, paper towel and gift cards.
