LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A drawing by a Las Vegas student could win her a college scholarship and be featured on the Google homepage.

Zhe Zhang, a student at Southwest Career and Technical Academy, entered her drawing in the sixth annual Doodle 4 Google. She was one of the 50 state winners picked from the more than 130,000 drawings - based on the theme "My Best Day Ever."

"I created my own cartoons Bu and Tu," Zhang said in her entry's description on the competition website. "Since then, I started using these characters to tell my life stories with my sister and express my thoughts. My best day ever is the birthday of my cartoons, as it is the beginning of my cartoon diary."

Zhang was honored during an assembly at the school Wednesday, where her drawing was revealed to her classmates.

The drawing, which features hands clasping an eraser and pencil over Bu and Tu to form the Google logo, advanced to the voting stage. Now, the public will determine which drawing will not only be featured on the Google homepage on May 23, but also net the winner a $30,000 college scholarship.

The winner's school will receive a $50,000 technology grant.
