Registration is open for Henderson's premier summer camp programs.
Summer Kids Zone and Teen Kamp are offered throughout the summer starting June 10.
Summer Kids Zone goes through Aug. 23 and is offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summertime activities include arts and crafts, drama, music, swimming, and field trips. Children ranging in age from 5 to 12 are encouraged to register for $99 per week. The program is offered at the following locations:
Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd.
Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
Bob Miller Middle School, 2400 Cozy Hill Circle
Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy.
Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.
Teen Kamp goes through Aug. 9, and is offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday at Bob Miller Middle School. Teens ranging in age from 12 to 15 are welcome to register for $110 per week. Activities include leadership opportunities, baking, outdoor exploration, movies, and riding roller coasters.
Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen believes the summer camps are a great opportunity not only for the kids, but also for their parents.
"Summer Kids Zone and Teen Kamp provide working parents with peace of mind when school is out for the summer," he said. "The camps also provide children and teens with a summer full of enjoyment and opportunities to socialize with their peers. These are memories that will last a lifetime."
Parents can reserve their child's place for any week in the program with a $20 deposit per family, per week for each program. Registration is accepted at all Henderson recreation centers, by mail and online.
