Las Vegas Sign goes blue for Foster Care Month

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Las Vegas Welcome Sign's lights will change to blue to raise awareness for Clark County kids in foster care. The switch will be flipped by county commissioners at 9 a.m. May 1 and stay blue until May 7.

The event recognizes foster parents, attorneys and others involved in caring for foster children.

Kids from the department's Independent Living Program will be there to speak about foster care issues. The program helps kids transition from youth to adulthood.

For more information on Clark County's foster care program, visit the Clark County website.
