WOOD COUNTY, OH (Press Release) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Bowling Green Post is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred today at approximately 5:18 p.m. on US 6 at the I-75 northbound on-ramp in Center Township, Wood County.

Kalena Kuhnle, 22, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2010 Kia Forte.  Kuhnle sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the hospital.  Matthew Blodgett, 27, was a passenger in the vehicle, but did not sustain injuries.

Dean Martin, 48, of Findlay, was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Martin sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was flown from the scene to the hospital. Martin was later pronounced deceased at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained.

Kuhnle was driving eastbound on US 6 at the on-ramp for I-75. Martin was driving westbound on US 6 at the on-ramp to 75.  Kuhnle was attempting to turn left onto the on-ramp and failed to yield the right of way to Martin. Martin struck Kuhnle's vehicle, ejecting Martin from the motorcycle.  Both vehicles went off the north side of US 6 and Martin came to rest under Kuhnle's vehicle.

OSHP was assisted at the scene by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, Wright's Towing, Mid County EMS, Life-Flight, Center Township Fire Department, and the Wood County Park Rangers.  Both occupants of the Forte were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.  Martin was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol use is unknown at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
