On April 21 at approximately 8:55 a.m., a motorcyclist was critically injured following a collision with a Honda CR-V. The accident occurred on South Decatur Boulevard at West Tropicana Avenue.
Witness statements and evidence collected at the accident site indicate that the CR-V was stopped at a red light traffic signal on northbound Decatur Boulevard at Tropicana Avenue.
A Honda RC51 motorcycle was traveling north on Decatur Boulevard and was approaching the rear of the CR-V. The traffic signal changed to a green light, and as the CR-V moved forward, it was struck from the rear by the motorcyclist's front end.
The rider of the motorcycle was thrown into the roadway and the CR-V stopped. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to UMC Trauma with critical injuries, and the operator of the CR-V remained at the scene unhurt.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. FOX5 will continue to provide more details on this incident as information becomes available.
