LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A new era of nightclubs will be ushered in once the doors swing open on Thursday night. Hakkasan at the MGM Grand is starting their opening day with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m., then the music starts for opening night.
Hakkasan took more than a year to build and cost tens of millions of dollars. The five-story restaurant and club features 80,000 square feet and more than 1,200 tons of steel according to MGM.
The flagship Hakkasan restaurant is in London, England, but the Vegas location offers something new to the Hakkasan experience … a nightclub. They're bringing in top talent from around the world, too. They'll offer resident DJs Tiesto and Calvin Harris, along with performances by Bingo Players, deadmau5, Hardwell, Laidback Luke and more.
The nightclub will be open Thursday through Sunday from 10 p.m. until close. Guests must be 21 or older and cover charges will vary nightly.
The Hakkasan restaurant will open on May 3.
