Detectives with the Nye County Sheriff's Office have made a third arrest in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a vulnerable person.
George Quiroga, 65, of Pahrump, was arrested at an undisclosed time and faces charges of abuse of a vulnerable person, preventing/dissuading a victim from reporting a crime and sexual assault of a vulnerable person.
Police on Wednesday announced the arrests of Michael Mack, 69, and Arthur Gatzke, 81, both of Pahrump. It's believed all three suspects sexually assaulted the same victim. It's further believed the three are friends and that Mack facilitated the contact between the victim and Gatzke and Quiroga.
Because of the nature of the crime, the identity of the victim and the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged crimes will not be released. Police did say they are concerned that there may be additional victims.
The sheriff's office clarified its definition of "vulnerable person" in terms of the charges. According to authorities, it is defined as a person 18 years of age or older who either:
Suffers from a condition of physical or mental incapacitation because of a developmental disability, organic brain damage or mental illness; or
Has one or more physical or mental limitations that restrict the ability of the person to perform the normal activities of daily living.
