Police: Woman struck, killed not in crosswalk

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A woman who died after being struck by a pick-up truck Tuesday was not in a marked crosswalk when she was attempting to walk across Boulder Highway.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the incident happened near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Indios Avenue about 7:45 p.m.

The female pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital, Trauma, where she later died.

Investigators said the victim was not in a marked crosswalk when she was struck.

Police have not yet released the victim's identity or disclosed the exact circumstances leading up to the accident.

The driver stayed on the scene and was not cited.

Metro is still investigating the accident; officers say they do not believe he was under the influence or speeding.
