LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A pedestrian struck and killed outside of a crosswalk east of the Las Vegas Strip was identified Monday.

Guyle Richard Hirschman, 46, was the person who died in the incident on Sunday, according to the Clark County Coroner's office.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Hirschman was crossing Tropicana Avenue west of Paradise Road just after 9 p.m.

Police said a Ford vehicle traveling eastbound on Tropicana struck the pedestrian in the outside eastbound travel lane, throwing him forward on to the traffic lanes.

Hirschman was pronounced dead at the scene, police noted. Investigators also said the pedestrian appeared to have been attempting to cross the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk.

As of the incident, Metro investigated 37 traffic-related fatalities in 2013.
