Nevada Sen. Harry Reid will help break ground for a new UNLV transit center.
The new transit center will be built at 1135 E. University Road on the south side, just west of Maryland Parkway.
The Centennial Express will serve the center, taking passengers to the Bonneville Transit Center in downtown Las Vegas.
The Federal Transit Authority is contributing $3.4 million in federal money to the project.
RTC officials, Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus and other local officials will also be at today's ceremony.
The new transit center is scheduled to open in August. Thursday's groundbreaking starts at 10 a.m.
