LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A decision whether to use a firm to seek the next Clark County School District superintendent was put on hold until next month.

CCSD Board of Trustees voted Wednesday to table the issue of employing a firm to seek candidates nationally until its May 20 meeting. The issue also involved whether to seek candidates within the district.

Last month, the Board approved the appointment of deputy superintendent Pat Skorkowsky as the interim superintendent following Dwight Jones' abrupt resignation.

Wednesday's meeting also touched on CCSD's $2.1 billion budget for the next year.

There was nothing finalized in the meeting, but a budget would have to be voted on and approved by May 15.

A balanced budget is required to be sent to the Nevada Legislature by June 8.
