If you're a Democrat and interested in politics, this is your chance.
The Clark County Commission is now accepting applications to fill the vacancy in Assembly District 17 left by the ousted Steven Brooks.
In order to apply to fill the remainder of Brooks' term, you must live in the district and be a registered Democrat, according to state law.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. Once the application period closes, staff will review the applications to make sure candidates meet the qualifications.
A list of qualified applicants will then be forwarded to members of the Clark County Commission. A replacement will be appointed during the April 16 meeting.
