(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Police Department's Organized Crime Unit seized 2,100 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $2 million.

The OCU received a tip that a large delivery of narcotics was on its way to the Memphis area.

Surveillance was done and officers were able to identify some of the people behind the operation.

On Monday, officers made a traffic stop and found 100 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. That traffic stop also identified the source of the larger stash.

A search warrant at 4114 Reenie Avenue in North Memphis led to the discovery of 2,100 pounds of marijuana, a .357 handgun, Xanax pills, and $170,000 in cash.

"The whole idea is to get the source," said MPD Director Toney Armstrong. "I think it's safe to say we finally got the source."

Four people were charged in connection to this drug bust.

Rene Hernandez, Armando Sauceda, Aramis Diaz, and Gabriel Diaz are all charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture, deliver, and sell.

"This is a substantial amount," added Armstrong. "It's a cat and mouse game. And on this particular day, we won."
