LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's office identified the 17-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a semi-truck in west Las Vegas Monday.

The cause of death, though, was pending for Alexis Gomez Bautista, the coroner's office reported.

The teen was hit just after 5 p.m. on Spring Mountain Road near Wynn Road, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

Police said the truck was making a right turn and hit the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating to determine who was at fault, but did say the pedestrian was wearing headphones when struck.

Spring Mountain Road was closed for several hours on Monday as the accident was investigated.

As of this incident, Metro has investigated 34 traffic-related fatalities in the Las Vegas area this year.
