NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A man wanted for attempted murder at a North Las Vegas convenience store got into a struggle with a clerk before shots rang out, police said.

NLV police said a black male suspect who was about 50 years old entered the AM-PM store in the 2000 block of E. Cheyenne Avenue about 10 p.m. on Wednesday and held clerks at gunpoint.

Police said the suspect got behind the counter and demanded cash from the registers. One of the clerks refused and presented a personal electronic stun device, NLVPD said.

The suspect and the clerk got into a struggle, resulting in the employee getting shot, police said.

Investigators noted the suspect ran into the nearby Lucky Club Casino, where he removed some of his clothing.

The clerk was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as 5'10" and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

North Las Vegas police also released security video of the suspect on its YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHnjGo0UFM8).

Police cautioned the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. NLVPD urged anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to call 702-633-9111 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
