LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A pedestrian hospitalized after being struck by a car on Las Vegas Boulevard was walking in a crosswalk during a "Do Not Cross" signal, police said.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, the collision happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday on Warm Springs Road at Las Vegas Boulevard South.
Police said the pedestrian was crossing from north to south across Warm Springs during the "Do Not Cross" signal. At that time, police said, an eastbound Nissan Altima was approaching the intersection on a new green signal when the collision occurred.
The pedestrian, who was identified as 53-year-old Hugh Tuberville, was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries.
The 70-year-old driver was not injured in the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
