Authorities released the booking photo Wednesday of a Boulder City man suspected of attempting to kidnap a 6-year-old girl at a Henderson park.
Police said 30-minute James H. Allen, 30, of Boulder City, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday and booked into Henderson Detention Center on charges of attempted kidnapping, child abuse and burglary. He is being held without bail.
Allen is accused of grabbing a 6-year-old girl in a restroom at Mountain View Park on Wigwam Parkway before noon on Sunday. The girl screamed for help, prompting the suspect to release her and flee in a red Volkswagen.
The girl was not harmed but was shaken up.
Police said a citizen led them to Allen. Police discovered Allen was in possession of a Volkswagen matching the description of the suspect's vehicle.
Allen had been seen in the park prior to the attempted abduction. Witnesses placed him at the scene before the incident and noticed him fleeing after the girl had screamed for help.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call the Henderson Police Department at 702-267-4750 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
