GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police need help locating two suspects who scammed an 87-year-old man into handing over $1,000 in cash and his credit card number.

The victim was approached by a woman on Feb. 18 while shopping at Walmart at 9350 W. Northern Ave. The suspect told him she was a nurse at a local hospital and was currently taking care of his wife while she was at the hospital, according to Officer Tracey Breeden of the Glendale Police Department.

The suspect told him she was in need of a loan and in return she would provide personal care for his wife, Breeden said

The man drove the suspect along with one other woman and child to his home, where he gave them the cash and his credit card number, Breeden said. He then drove them back to Walmart. Once there, the suspects fled, possibly in a white Chevrolet crew cab three-fourths-ton pickup truck.

The suspects used the victim's credit card to buy about $2,000 in merchandise before the account could be closed, Breeden said.

One of the suspects is described as 35 to 45 years old. She is 5'4" to 5'6" tall and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. She has with brown shoulder-length hair.

The second suspect is about 30 years old. She is 5'4" to 5'6" tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown hair. They had a boy with them who was 8 to 12 years old.

Glendale police fraud and forgery detectives said they have exhausted all leads. People with any information about the case are asked to call Detective Harry Steward at 623-930-3217 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
