LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A loose bobcat in the northwest valley on Thursday morning prompted school officials to place four schools on lockdown.
The schools put on lockdown are Piggot, Jacobson and Derfelt elementary schools as well as Johnson Middle School. All the lockdowns have since been lifted.
Metro police received a call about the bobcat just before 11 a.m. The cat was described as approximately three feet tall and was spotted in the 900 block of Bannockburn Street, near the intersection of Charleston and Rampart boulevards.
Police have not located the animal and are using a helicopter to search for it.
