LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

More plaques were stolen from two additional Clark County parks after officials disclosed the thefts on Thursday.

According to public information officer Dan Kulin on Friday, bronze or brass plaques were taken from Winchester and Ravenwood parks.

Kulin said each were engraved with specific names.

On Thursday, the county said eight commemorative plaques were stolen from seven different parks in Clark County in the last week.

Kulin previously listed the following parks where plaques were stolen:

  • Charlie Frias;
  • Desert Breeze;
  • Lone Mountain;
  • Mountain Crest;
  • West Flamingo;
  • Western Trails;
  • Laurelwood.

The county also notified recycling businesses in the area to call Las Vegas Metro police if any of the plaques came through their doors.

"They're probably worth close to $2 a pound, so as far as metals go, that's a fairly high value. They probably don't weigh a whole lot, so the damage that was done probably far exceeds the (worth of) the metal that was stolen," said Scott Stolberg, president of A&A Midwest Recycling.

The county said the plaques are worth hundreds of dollars, much more than their scrap value.

The county is urging anyone with information on the thefts to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
