Progressive rock legend and noted flautist Ian Anderson is bringing a two-part epic to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and the melodies will be immediately familiar to 1970s rock fans.
Anderson, along with a large band, will perform the Jethro Tull concept album Thick as a Brick in its entirety along with his new release, Thick as a Brick 2.
This marks the first time the 1972 hit has been performed from start to finish. The sequel album picks up the life of the story's central character, Gerald Bostock.
In addition to being a solo performer, Anderson has written nearly all of the material for Jethro Tull, which in 45 years has sold 60 million albums worldwide.
Tickets for the show range between $45 and $88 plus service charges. The show is slated for Friday, July 5
