DUI suspected in wreck that claimed teen

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

The Clark County coroner has identified a teen killed in an accident this past weekend as Robert Lee Brown, 15, of Las Vegas.

Brown's cause of death was ruled multiple blunt force vehicle trauma, an accident.

Police said the accident occurred Saturday just after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Rainbow and Lake Mead boulevards. Brown was a passenger in a vehicle that struck a light pole. The driver, identified as Arturo Castillo, 23, was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

According to his arrest report, Castillo failed field sobriety tests and confessed to having consumer several beers and smoking marijuana prior to the accident. Castillo's front passenger received minor injuries.

The Clark County School District confirmed Brown was a student at Western High School. There is a small memorial to him at the crash site.
