Price of gas down slightly in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

While gas prices in the Las Vegas Valley are down slightly, we're still paying more than the national average.

According to a survey by tracking website GasBuddy.com, gas prices in Las Vegas have fallen by 4 cents in the past week, averaging $3.81 a gallon.

Nationally, prices have fallen an average of 3.2 cents per gallon with the average price per gallon at $3.66

Gas in Las Vegas is 3 cents higher than at this time last year and 35 cents higher than they were a month ago.

"Relief at the pump has continued for motorists in a majority of the United States during the last week," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "I would caution motorists, however, not to sound the all-clear. Refineries will be continuing their switch over to cleaner burning gasoline, and there certainly is the possibility that one mishap could send prices racing higher, much to the disappointment of motorists nationwide."
