Goodwill of Southern Nevada on Friday announced its latest donation center, this one to be located at a city of Las Vegas facility in Summerlin.
On Monday, Goodwill will officially open the center located in the Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center at 101 N. Pavilion Center Dr., at the intersection of Pavilion Center and Alta Drive.
Goodwill hired two unemployed veterans to staff the donation center. You may drop off gently used goods seven days a week, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
"Goodwill is pleased to partner with the city of Las Vegas on this donation center," said Steve Chartrand, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada, "We appreciate the city's support of our retail stores and special events. This new donation site provides the public with another convenient location to donate. Additional donations translate into more merchandise in our Goodwill stores, which increases funds for our job placement and training programs for local Nevadans at a time when unemployment remains a critical issue in our community."
Goodwill of Southern Nevada now has more than 40 donation centers set up throughout the valley. In 2012, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped roughly 1,800 people find employment through its Career Connections program.
