6 driven out of apartment in NLV fire

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Six people were driven out of an apartment after a fire Thursday in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas Fire Department reported the blaze at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Carroll Street, near E. Lake Mead Boulevard and N. Civic Center Drive, at 8:25 a.m.

Fire officials said flames were contained to an upstairs unit of a two-story home. The apartment was considered a complete loss, NLV fire said.

One person was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, but there were no other injuries reported.

Five adults and a child were displaced from the apartment fire, officials said.
