A locally-owned eatery with a number of locations in the Las Vegas valley has opened its latest restaurant in the downtown area.
Rachel's Kitchen opened up shop Wednesday at The Ogden located near Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street.
The location is the fourth Rachel's Kitchen to open in the area. The location is a franchise owned by partners Caron Richardson and Kathy Wilson.
The eatery's founder Debbie Sofer-Roxarzade noted the timing of the location's grand opening as Zappos relocates downtown.
"We're very excited to be in downtown with everything going on down here with the jobs and everything that's being created," Roxarzade said Wednesday.
Roxarzade also noted the indirect influence of Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh as his company spearheads the district's redevelopment.
Rachel's Kitchen first opened at Hualapai Way and Desert Inn with franchises at The District in Henderson and Summerlin North that followed.
The eatery plans to open another location in the Centennial Hills area.
Rachel's Kitchen said the downtown restaurant serves its standard breakfast and lunch fare, which features salads, wraps, burgers, pastas and smoothies.
