LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Intermittent traffic slowdowns continued Tuesday on the Las Vegas Strip as crews dismantled a large tower crane.

The removal of the crane situated at Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue outside the MGM Grand is expected to bring about road closures eight times for about 20 minutes each through Friday.

The closures will take place between the hours of 12 midnight to 8 a.m. each morning.

Officials said traffic will be halted and not re-routed. In addition, the pedestrian bridge between MGM Grand and New York-New York casino properties will also be closed during the intermittent stoppages.

The crane was in place since the middle of last year as part of the construction of Hakkasan restaurant and nightclub at the northeast corner of the intersection.
