Clark County School District police on Tuesday confirmed a Legacy High School volunteer junior varsity girls basketball coach has been arrested for sexual misconduct.

Angelo Cruz, 23, is accused of misconduct with a player. He was arrested at a police station following an interview, police said.

School police said they began investigating Cruz on Feb. 6 after receiving information from parents, students and staff that there was misconduct between him and a 16-year-old player.

Cruz is not paid and has volunteered for the school less than a year.

Cruz is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a student. Police said he is cooperating with the investigation and confessed to the allegations.
