LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Authorities have yet to determine whether a driver who died after a wreck Tuesday suffered a medical episode during the incident.
The Clark County Coroner's office identified the driver who died in northwest Las Vegas as 65-year-old Louis Lawrence Polizziotti. His cause of death was pending.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, Polizziotti was driving westbound on Button Willow Drive near Crooked Corner Street, located west of the 215 Beltway and north of Summerlin Parkway, about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Metro said his Toyota Prius left the roadway and struck a power box.
Police said the driver was taken to Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed the driver may have had a medical episode at the time.
The crash remains under investigation. The Clark County Coroner's office is expected to release Polizziotti's cause of death.
