LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Friends and family of a slaying victim gathered to remember her on Tuesday evening inside the home where she lost her life.

Sharon Jones was stabbed multiple times on Sunday night, later dying at a hospital.

Metro police believe her boyfriend, Ricardo Glasgow, is responsible. Police said Glasgow is also wanted for parole violation in California. Jones' family said they didn't know about that and hope this tragedy serves as a warning for others.

"It's sad to lose your life over nothing. I don't understand. How do you stab someone 17 times over nothing?" asked Jones' aunt, Gretchen Brown.

"She was a good, loving, caring person. No one deserved to go like this," said Jones' cousin, Angela McBride.

According to Glasgow's arrest report, when police arrived at the home near Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Spencer Street, Glasgow was in the front yard covered in blood. He then allegedly ran inside the house, yelling, "Come get me! Come see what I'm doing!"

Police said they found Glasgow straddling the victim with a large knife. He refused to surrender and told officers to shoot him, the report claims.

Officers eventually subdued Glasgow with an electronic device and arrested him following a short struggle.

Glasgow is wanted in California on an outstanding warrant for parole violation stemming from a 2005 attempted murder charge.

Jones' family said Glasgow fooled them.

"No one deserves to go like that. She was just pretty much with a psychopath. We didn't realize the signs were there until it was too late," McBride said.

Glasgow was arrested for murder, resisting an officer with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.

Metro police found two bloody knives at the scene. Glasgow is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday morning.
