LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Bail was set for two men accused of attacking a hotel guest and stabbing him at least 10 times at a Las Vegas Strip property's elevator.

Trent Wilcox, 25, and Carlos Heredia-Avalos, 23, both of Las Vegas, appeared for their 72-hour hearing on attempted murder in the incident that took place at theHotel at Mandalay Bay early Saturday.

Bail was set for $250,000 each, and an evidentiary hearing for the two was set for March 6, the Clark County Courts confirmed.

According to a Las Vegas Metro police arrest report, a couple staying at the hotel had boarded an elevator to their floor about 2 a.m. when Wilcox and Heredia entered as well. In the arrest report, the victim's wife states the two appeared "extremely drunk" and acting like "punks".

She describes, in the arrest report, the two men tried to intimidate the couple leading to an exchange of words.

When the elevator stopped on the 31st floor, the arrest report said, the men got off, but an argument continued between the two and the couple. The men re-entered the elevator and told the couple they were following them, the arrest report states.

After the woman tried pushing one of the men off the elevator, the arrest report said, Wilcox grabbed the male victim from behind in a choke hold and took him to the ground.

The arrest report said Heredia took out a knife and stabbed the victim in his left side, at times missing the mark and wounding Wilcox at least once.

Police said, in the report, the victim's wife pressed the emergency button on the elevator which summoned security guards almost immediately. The two men were subdued and later taken into custody, the report said.

The arrest report said the victim was treated at University Medical Center for puncture wounds to the left side of his arm and chest. Police said none of the wounds appeared to have punctured his lung.

The two suspects were also treated at University Medical Center. The arrest report said Wilcox was unruly at the hospital, even trying to kick nurses and fighting officers. He was later sedated.

The arrest report also described a review of security video, which showed Heredia reaching in his pocket for his folding knife before the actual stabbing.

Wilcox and Heredia were booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

A records check of the suspects showed Wilcox was charged last July for DUI-drugs, possession of a hypodermic device and obstructing a public officer. Before that, Wilcox was arrested for domestic battery, strangulation in 2009.
