Driver killed in Flamingo Road wreck ID'd

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's office released the identity of a driver who was killed after crashing into a wall in west Las Vegas.

Marin Petrov, 42, was the person who died in the early morning wreck on Monday, the coroner's office said..

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Petrov and 31-year-old Dimo Stolev were heading westbound on Flamingo Road just before 3:30 a.m. in a Lincoln Continental, when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Edmond Street.

The vehicle drove off-road and collided into a concrete property wall, resulting in major damage, Metro said.

Petrov was pronounced dead at the scene while Stolev was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

Petrov's death represented the 21st traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
