
Dr. Jerry Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has died, losing his battle with cancer, according to TMZ.com.
The 79-year-old NBA franchise owner was recently hospitalized due to an intestinal problem, the website said. TMZ, though, goes on to report that Buss had been battling cancer for some time.
Buss took over the Lakers in 1979, and, under his ownership, the franchise won 10 NBA Championships.
