Couples from all over the country and the world have been getting married at the many Las Vegas wedding chapels on Valentine's Day. From the more traditional ceremonies to those found only in Las Vegas, there are endless options for those looking to get hitched on the holiday.
Carolyn and Peter Piliounis flew in all the way from Canada planning for a regular Las Vegas vacation. A spur of the moment decision means they'll be leaving with memories that will last until death do them part. The pair tied the knot in a drive-thru, wedding ceremony at the Vegas Weddings chapel.
"We've been to Vegas many times. We thought this would be kind of fun and spontaneous. We didn't decide before we came here this is what we were going to do," said Carolyn Piliounis from the drive-thru, lane.
Something about celebrating Valentine's Day in Las Vegas brings hundreds of couples to the chapel each year.
"Valentine's Day and Vegas weddings is so much fun. It is big business and we're very busy today. Very happy with the turnout," said Vegas Weddings employee Shelly Powers.
Newlyweds George and Bernice Brown planned to say their "I dos" in the drive-thru tunnel about a month ago. The Georgia residents are excited to cross a Las Vegas wedding off their bucket lists.
"I like it because it's different. I like doing stuff that's different and outside the norm," said George Brown.
