Girl Scouts celebrate National Cookie Day with sweet deal

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Today is National Girl Scout Cookie Day, and the Girls Scouts of southern Nevada are celebrating in a tasty way thanks to a sweet deal from Grimaldi's Pizzeria - a limited edition Thin Mint Cookie Cheesecake.

The chocolate mint cheesecake is made with pieces of thin mint cookie, a thin mint crust and topped with whipped cream. The cheesecake will sell for $5 per slice, from Feb. 8 to 22, with all proceeds supporting Girl Scout leadership programs in southern Nevada. The Thin Mint Cheesecake is available at all Grimaldi's Pizzeria locations in Las Vegas.

"The Thin Mint Cookie Cheesecake is a great addition to our slate of desserts - but only available for two weeks," said Cory Lattuca, food and beverage director/corporate chef. "So don't miss a chance to taste this cheesecake extraordinaire, where every delicious bite benefits girls in southern Nevada."

National Girl Scout Cookie Day marks the start of the Girl Scout Cookie Sale. Girls will be in front of retail locations throughout the valley Feb. 9 to March 10. Town Square Las Vegas will host Girl Scouts from noon to 10 p.m. today as the exclusive location to purchase cookies.
