LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man whose body was found in a burning Las Vegas home on Tuesday died of blunt force trauma of the head as a result of a homicide.

The Clark County Coroner's office released the cause of death Thursday for 49-year-old Daniel Giliberto.

On Wednesday, Las Vegas Metro police said Giliberto walked in on a burglary in progress when he was attacked early Tuesday morning in the 1800 block of Glistening Sands Drive, near Eastern Avenue and Warm Springs.

Investigators believe the suspect or suspects made entry into the home through a window. The resident was attacked and then taken to the garage, police said.

The home was then deliberately set on fire, Metro noted.

Metro believes the victim did not know the person or persons responsible and have not identified any suspects.

They are looking for the public's help. They say if you were in the area and noticed anything that could help or if you think you heard something relevant, please call them right away.

Those with information on the incident are urged to contact Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
