LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Saudi air force officer accused of raping a 13-year-old boy at a Las Vegas Strip hotel on New Year's Eve is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Mazen Alotaibi, 23, was charged in the sexual assault of the minor at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on Dec. 31.

A judge set bail for the military officer at $1,220,000 on Jan. 18.

Police said both the suspect and the victim were vacationing in town. Alotaibi's attorney said his client was drunk when allegedly told police of the encounter, the Associated Press reported.

The hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
